Family Support Groups
Join our family support groups. Our groups are at no cost.
We offer emotional support groups, educational group sessions, and our INFOcafe offer parents a peer-to-peer conversation that provides information, education, and a support network.
Emotional Groups
Escuchen Mi Voz provides emotional support groups for parents. Our support focuses on individual issues with a parent-to-parent approach.
Among the topics of interest in 2023 are:
- Resonating the diagnosis of a disability of intellectual development cyclical grief.
- Building your support network and taking care of you.
- Increase your emotional intelligence and control your emotions.
- Implications for families with children with intellectual development disabilities.
- Adaptation and management of expectations for your family
- Your child's rights, family-school partnership, empowerment.
Educational Groups
Our Escuchen Mi Voz's team offers a series of educational workshops to help parents understand and navigate generic services and regional center services.
Some of the topics that were offered during 2023 are:
- How to understand depression and anxiety.
- What services does Valley Mountain Regional Center offer?
- The difference between traditional services and self-determination.
This program promotes equity between Spanish-speaking people and the community at large.
